Under the Matagami Project the joint Donner-Xstrata exploration team have made four discoveries since the agreement was signed in 2006. The most advanced is the Bracemac-McLeod deposit (NI43-101 Indicated Resource of 3.62 million tonnes grading 11.52% zinc, 1.60% copper, 31.55g/t silver and 0.49g/t gold), located 6 kilometres from the mill complex. This deposit was discovered in 2007 and it is currently under an accelerated feasibility study, conducted and funded by Xstrata Zinc. The study is schedulted for completion in June 2010.
The remaining three discoveries are yet to be investigated. Currently there are 6 drills on the property. Three drills are active
on the feasibility drilling by Xstrata and focused on defining
the three Bracemac zones. Exploration of the camp
includes two drills currently active on exploration drilling and a
third drill to be brought to site when access permits. The exploration
drilling includes the newly discovered Daniel Belt which hosts
copper-gold mineralization. The objective of the joint venture is to discover a 15 year resource base to feed the Matagami mill complex.
