Development

Donner’s mining projects are located in the Abitibi region of central Québec and form part of the Matagami Project, an area of 4,737 square kilometers centered on the world-class Matagami Mining Camp. The Matagami Project is governed by a joint venture agreement signed in 2006 between Donner Metals Ltd and Falconbridge Limited, now Xstrata Canada Corporation (“Xstrata”). The development of Donner’s main mining project, the Bracemac-McLeod mine, is on schedule and on budget and began production May 15, 2013 under the joint venture with partner and operator Xstrata Zinc Canada.

Xstrata’s Zinc Canada Division is the project operator for the Matagami Project and its relative joint ventures. The area of mutual interest is divided into six separate joint venture areas that cover claims in which Donner holds an interest with Xstrata.

In addition to the excellent property package, two key strengths of the Matagami Project are the development and exploration teams, in which both Xstrata and Donner participate. This group has a reputation for excellence in the mining business, with extensive experience in finding, evaluating, developing and producing deposits in the Matagami region.
